About Addison Elementary

Addison Elementary opened its doors in Cobb County on August of 1988.   Our school was named for Mr. Walter Pinkney Addison.  Mr. Addison came to Cobb County as an educator in 1913. He later donated land for an early county school and also purchased the first school bus. He was an active participant in the education community for many years.

Addison became Georgia's first charter school in 1995. Subsequent charter renewals in 1998, 2003, and recently in 2008 have ensured high academic achievement for all Addison students.

Our school enrollment averages 585 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our parent involvement at Addison boasts 100% PTA membership with an average of 100 volunteer hours logged weekly. Parents are active members of Addison's Design Teams including a parent member on the Building Leadership Team.
